In a season packed with world-class performances, breathtaking speed, and trademark grit, double Olympic medalist Emma Wilson has once again proved why she is one of the greatest windsurfers of her generation. With a World Championship title and silver at the European Championships, Wilson’s 2025 campaign was nothing short of outstanding — a masterclass delivered by an athlete at the very peak of her powers.
“I’m pretty happy overall,” she says with a smile that only champions can wear. “My season was amazing… to win the Worlds and finish second at the Europeans — it’s pretty good.”
‘Pretty good’ is understatement at its finest. For most athletes, this would be a career-defining year. For Emma Wilson, it’s simply who she is.
In this blog, Emma speaks candidly about her season, all of us at The Official Test Centre are in awe of the inspirational legend she is and we are all so excited to see what 2026 will bring.

A Rare Slip, A Remarkable Response
Even legends have moments that don’t go perfectly.
In the final race of the Europeans, Wilson misjudged the first start — a small error in an otherwise immaculate week.
But where others might have panicked, Wilson did exactly what has made her a global force.
“Once it had happened, I wasn’t too bothered. I just tried to focus on what I could do. I know I’m fast and I really believed I could catch up.”
What followed was classic Emma Wilson: full commitment, fearless racing, and a chase-down that electrified the course. She pushed relentlessly, carving through the fleet in a display of speed and determination that reminded everyone watching why she is a two-time Olympic medalist and reigning world champion.
“In the race all I was thinking about was trying to catch up. I tried my best but couldn’t quite do it this time. Daniela sailed a very good race.”
Even in defeat, Wilson radiates class.

Silver With a Golden Glow
When she crossed the line, the emotions were mixed — but the achievement was immense.
“I never really knew if I was going to compete at the Europeans until the week before… so I think it’s a bit of a bonus to do so well.”
A bonus indeed. Her “solid week” was, to everyone else, a dominating performance capped by a stellar silver medal. It was the kind of racing that shows why Wilson is admired not just for her results, but for her attitude: resilient, calm, gracious, fiercely competitive.
“I’m proud of the way I raced,” she says. “It’s just a bit bittersweet, but that’s sport and I’ll learn from it.”
And that is exactly why she keeps rising. She turns setbacks into fuel.

Recharging, Refocusing, and A Huge Year Ahead
After a phenomenal season, Wilson is heading to Australia for Christmas to spend time with her brother — a well-earned break for an athlete who has given the sport so much this year.
“I’m going to have a good rest and then come back in 2026.”
And her eyes are already on one of the biggest moments of her career: the 2026 World Championships at The Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy , her home waters.
“I’m excited for the World Championships in Weymouth next year — that’ll be cool!”
Cool for her — unforgettable for everyone else.

A Champion Supported by Many
Wilson closes her incredible 2025 season with gratitude for the team that helps her fly.
“Thanks to everyone for following me this year and for their support, and a big thanks to my sponsors Holiday Extras and Pacific Green for making this whole thing possible.”
Emma Wilson — Champion, Role Model, Legend
Her season reminds us that greatness isn’t only about gold medals.
It’s about consistency.
It’s about courage.
It’s about showing the world how a true champion carries herself — in victory and in challenge.
Emma Wilson did all of that in 2025.
And in 2026, she’ll be back — faster, sharper, and more unstoppable than ever.
