Give them a half-term adventure on the water at The OTC

Looking for an October half-term activity that will get the kids outdoors, keep them busy and help them build confidence? The Official Test Centre (OTC) is running youth windsurfing and winging camps for complete beginners and young people ready to take their skills further.

We caught up with The OTC Centre Manager Bryony Webb to find out what families can expect — and why she thinks half-term is the perfect time to give watersports a go.

The camps run Monday to Friday, from 10am to 5pm each day, with an hour’s break for lunch.

Sail this way for October half term fun!

Beginners need to start on Monday so they can learn and progress throughout the week. Young people at intermediate level can join on whichever days suit them.

Sessions cost £80 per day or £350 for the full week. As Bryony put it: “You get your Friday free if you do the full week.”

For parents, the camps offer a way to keep children entertained during the school break. For the young people taking part, Bryony hopes the experience will give them confidence that lasts well beyond October.

“It’s going to be a brilliant way for us to keep them entertained for you. It will give them tons of confidence in terms of going forward into the later months and into the spring next year, and if they haven’t already tried water-based activity, it’s the perfect place to learn.”

“We’re going to have various levels running in a really friendly, welcoming environment,” Bryony said, adding that there is “no better place for the half-term.”
