With the 2026 PWA season approaching, Official Test Centre Pro Rider Scotty Stallman is preparing for what promises to be a short but high-pressure year on tour.

“At the moment it looks like we’ll get two fin events and two foil events,” Scotty explains. “Unfortunately, with the cancellation of some events it’s going to be a short season. However, this does mean you have to make everything count.”

With no discards available this season, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

“Each event will be make or break with no room for errors,” he says. “You really can’t afford to slip up.”

The Impact of Aruba’s Cancellation

The loss of the Aruba event has had a noticeable impact on the tour calendar.

“The cancellation of the Aruba event is a little frustrating for us as riders,” Scotty admits. “It would have allowed for more movement in the overall rankings carrying three events rather than two.”

Still, he sees the upside.

“It does give you more reason to push as hard as possible at the two events available,” he says. “From perhaps a selfish point of view, I was also looking forward to visiting Aruba after hearing so many good things about it and ticking another country off the list — maybe next year!”

Favourite Stops on Tour

When asked which locations he’s most excited about, one destination stands out.

“Japan and its culture is for sure my favourite on tour,” Scotty says.

But Fuerteventura runs it close.

“Fuerteventura is always a pleasure to be at. The reliable wind and high-octane racing it offers is pretty unmatched.”

Building on Japan Success

Following a breakthrough result in Japan last season, Scotty heads into 2026 with renewed belief.

“The event in Japan last year really lit a fire,” he says. “Knowing I’m capable of achieving top ten results and further, the next steps are to really cement myself within the top ten and push for some event results in the top five.”

He’s realistic about the challenge ahead.

“It’s not an easy task with the level being so high,” he acknowledges. “But after a winter of training and hopefully a few training trips abroad, I’m hoping to be more than ready for the challenge.”

With a condensed calendar and zero margin for error, 2026 is shaping up to be a defining season — and Scotty Stallman is ready to rise to it.
