The sails are up, the wind is in, and the wait is over — a dedicated print windsurfing magazine is back. Appropriately titled Windsurfer Magazine, this new bi-annual “coffee-table” publication promises to celebrate the greatest sport on earth in a way that’s every bit as passionate as the people who live it.
By Emma Maguire.

At the helm is Tris Best, co-founder of The Official Test Centre (OTC), who has assembled an all-star crew — from editorial and design to marketing and even the print team — all with one thing in common: they windsurf.
“This takes the concept of a passion project to the next level,” says Best. “All killer, no filler — covering the legends who shaped the sport, the athletes pushing boundaries today, and the explorers discovering new frontiers. We want this to be a true collector’s piece.”
The first edition lands this autumn, Available globally, the magazine aims to tap into windsurfing’s current renaissance, from a new generation of super-talented athletes to thriving World Tour formats, Olympic-class windfoiling, and ever-faster speed records.
And if the early feedback from the community is anything to go by, the appetite for print is strong. Readers from the UK to Melbourne and even Kauai have signed up within hours. “Nothing beats a slow, windless morning with a coffee and a printed windsurfing magazine in hand,” wrote one long-time fan. Others are hoping for “large-format, recycled thicker paper with eco-friendly inks” and some are calling for December and February issues to keep the stoke alive through winter.
Perhaps the best comment of all? “We were uncool before uncool was cool. Bring back the magic!”
With its promise of premium production, rich photography, and storytelling that spans the sport’s history and future, Windsurfer Magazine looks set to do exactly that.
